One of the target groups that is a priority of a global impact church is that of children between 4-14 years of age. Here are a few last minute details received from Ben Paul, Awana missionary, about the efforts related to the re-launch of this ministry at a national level.
In February 2011 we had two events designed to present the Awana program. The first, a regional event, took place in Brasov, organized by Speranta Baptist Church, with more than 100 participants. We had a quality time, and I was impressed by the networking among the local organizations.
The second event was organized by the Baptist Union in Buzias, with over 170 participants. We had an hour of presentation, repeated before two distinct groups. We used this time to encourage the participants in developing children ministries and introduced them to the Awana program, as a viable and effective alternative for this important niche of Christian ministry.
Following a visit we made last week in Mures county, I was overwhelmed to see the wonderful way in which God works over there.
Because of the wonderful efforts made by some individuals who introduced the Awana program, in a meeting of some Pentecostal churches from the region, a number of those churches want to implement this program in their children ministries. Therefore, we provided them with the necessary materials so that they could start up.
Presently, along with marketing this ministry, we are preparing with great anticipation for the follow-up meetings with the churches and the multipliers who attended the Seed Planters conference. These meetings are designed to encourage and further train those involved in this ministry.
We hope God will help us re-vitalize Awana ministry and introduce it in more and more churches that are passionate about reaching kids and their families for Christ. We are thankful for any prayer support received for fulfilling this dream.
