Born into an Evangelical Christian family, Mihai Dumitrascu was trained before the revolution in the technical field. However, his true calling was to serve God. Being very active in the youth ministry, Mihai began to study the Bible with them in a systematic way, and after he had completed studies at “Christ for the Nations” in Dallas Texas in 1992 he became a pastor. He also completed the theological studies course Advanced Training Studies – BEE.
Realising the need that people who are overcome by problems have for God, and the lack of information in his native city, Mihai soon developed a vision for planting a relevant church, focused on contemporary worship, expositive preaching, Biblical leadership, and the philospohy of growth based on discipleship and small fellowship groups. After having served for 5 years as pastor of The Pentecostal Temple in Galati, in March 1999 he planted “Emanuel Christian Church”, in the same city.
Mihai is married to Neli and they have 3 children: Flavius, Evelin and Remus, and he continues to be the pastor of Emanuel Church which has grown to a membership of 280 and it continues to grow harmoniously. Likewise, he coordinates the national programme of Pastoral Theology run by BEE and is Vice-president of the Regional Pentecostal Community of Constanta.
Mihai is one of the co-founding members of BIG Impact and coordinates the network of pastors and the pastoral theology programme: ATS.
