After 6 years of organizing national or regional conferences for young women and girls, the time came to do something for the team that faithfully and sacrificially served so many people over the years. On January 29 – February 2 the team gathered in Brasov for a time of rest, fellowship and encouragement.
We were joined by Amy Ellenwood and Laurie Doden, who led the devotional and prayer time. We focused on Spiritual Healing. Each one of us came after a crowded and tiring period of time, but God used these days to get us closer to him in a fresh way, to help us affirm our identity once more – that of beloved daughters, clarifying to us what is the mission he is calling us to.
The presence and guidance of the Holy Spirit were very present, revealing the truth to us and bringing freedom in areas where we believed lies or did not experience the freedom. We worship a victorious God – this was the recurring theme of these special days!
Ephesians 1:17-20 I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength! (The Message Bible)
Here are a few insights of the participants:
”The time we spent together in Brasov reminded me of the importance of community, transparency and prayer. When I quit self-protecting, I come to experience the most real, deep and tangible protection – that offered by Jesus. It is worth it to risk with him, because he risked everything for me.” Ioana Andra
”This time was used by God to deepen my desire for the Word and for prayer, and his invitation to grow in intimacy with him was clear to me throughout our retreat. It strengthened my conviction about the importance of community and my heart is full of gratitude for the women with whom I spent this time.” Laura
